Hi, I'm Armin.
I'm a Manager of Software Development based in Vancouver. I lead engineering teams that build and run backend services, distributed systems, and web applications.
My job is to help a team ship reliable software at a steady pace: setting clear direction, growing the people on it, and making sure product and engineering are working toward the same outcomes.
How I lead
I start with people. I hire carefully, hold regular 1:1s, and give engineers room to own meaningful work, with the feedback and coaching they need to grow into it.
I turn business goals into a roadmap a team can actually deliver. That means clear priorities, honest estimates, and saying no to work that doesn't move the outcome.
I build delivery habits that scale: CI/CD, code review standards, observability, and on-call practices that keep production stable without burning people out.
I stay close to the technology. I came up as a hands-on engineer, so I can weigh architecture tradeoffs with the team and keep technical debt visible and managed.
- Leadership: team building, hiring, mentoring and career growth, performance management
- Delivery: roadmap planning, agile delivery, stakeholder management, cross-team coordination
- Engineering: C#, .NET, Java, REST APIs, OAuth/OIDC, SQL, React, Angular
- Platform: Azure, AWS, GCP, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, CI/CD and DevOps practices
Selected experience
In recent roles, I've:
- Managed 11 engineers as direct reports, including QA, as a distributed team across North America and Europe
- Led development teams that build and run services for large internal and external user bases
- Set technical direction and delivery plans together with product, design, and QA leadership
- Hired and mentored engineers, and grew individual contributors into senior and lead roles
- Improved reliability and release cadence by investing in CI/CD, DevOps, and production support practices
- Guided architecture decisions and modernized existing systems step by step instead of starting over
I do my best work in organizations that value clear communication, sensible technical tradeoffs, and teams that own what they build.
